PIANO TEACHER IN PASADENA
Classically trained with hands-on experience teaching students of all ages, from primary school age to graduate-level university study; I am a skilled composer, playwright and music instructor.
Since 1974, I’ve taught private piano and music theory workshops. My past teaching experience in schools include The Mirman School for Gifted Children. My fondest memory is teaching a group of 6 year olds to compose a collective song on the music blackboard and then perform it with great joy and enthusiasm.
Dedicated to educate and enrich student lives through the appreciation of music, I incorporate diverse teaching tools and methods to facilitate optimal comprehension of materials. Organized weekly lesson plans and and monthly goals are uniquely tailored for the student’s learning style. I Actively seek an opportunity to enhance teaching competencies by reviewing materials related to the psychology of teaching and emerging trends in learning processes. It is important to me to promote an increased understanding of the elements of music in relation to a complete foundational education.
I earned a degree in Music Composition at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I had to wonderful opportunity to study under composer Peter Racine Fricker at UCSB, Pianist Brigita Lielausis in Los Angeles and pedagogy with Lana Bodnar, a dedicated piano teacher and the founder of the Santa Barbara Music Arts Conservatory.
